彼女 in the display (Kanojo in the display)
彼女 in the display (kanojo in the display) was founded in August 2010 in Fukuoka. Right after their formation, the band released their first demo EP “K.I.D”, which was sold only on their lives. After only a half year, all 2000 copies were sold out. Also in a very short period of time, the band was able to perform their first one-man live, which was sold out with around 200 people.
In March 2011, 彼女 in the display released their second demo EP “Stardust Crusaders” and they also completed their first tour in the area of Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo.
Finally in October 2012, the band released their first nationwide EP “Diamond is not Crash!”, which is available exclusively at Tower Records. For the lead track of this EP, “Crazy Diamond”, the band published a live PV on October 3, 2013. After releasing this album, the band set forth for their first nationwide tour, which had 13 stops in different cities all over Japan.
While performing with befriended artists and without forgetting their belief in “enjoying the sound”, 彼女 in the display want to continue producing music you’re not growing tired of. With this thought, the band released their first full album titled “GOLD EXPERIENCE” on July 10, 2013. This marks their second country-wide release and is kind of a best of album at the same time. For two tracks, the aforementioned “GOLD EXPERIENCE” and the killer tune “Unlimited”, they produced powerful PV’s. Right now vocal Ryousuke, guitarist Kouki, bassist Kenta, keyboarder Gouichi and drummer Kai are touring across the country, playing powerful lives with various other bands. If you happen to have the chance, make sure to go see them!
The sound of 彼女 in the display is “not metal, not loud rock, not hardcore, not screamo, not emo. It’s an innovation to J-Rock”, as the band describes themselves. They want to create songs that stick in the ears, brains and hearts of the listeners and they are sure close to that. Ryousukes style of singing is different from the usual J-Rock vocal, also the strong bass lines and smooth changes from slapping and tapping are striking. With Gouichi on keyboards, this bands adds a new dimension to their J-Rock, which usually is made up of only vocal, one or two guitars, bass and drums. The key tunes are mostly light and add an upbeat feeling to the rocking sound. Kouki on guitar and Kai on drums are playing with a great power, giving the songs a solid structure. Adding Ryousuke’s clear voice and kind of unusual singing style, you will recognize this band wherever you stumble upon a song of them. Plus: Their songs have a positive outlook on the world – though the lyrics are mainly in Japanese, the feeling of continuing to live with all of your power and keeping to go on your own path is clearly conveyed. Let’s follow this band to see, where their path will lead next!
